Did you know most sodas have more than 40 grams of sugar per serving — the same as 2 full-size chocolate bars?
On Wednesday, Aug. 12, CNE hosted a one-hour, free workshop presented by Dr. Lynn Gettleman-Chehab that dug deep into how much added sugar is in the food and drinks we consume, and what we can do to live healthier, more energized lives by seeking out alternatives.
After presenting the facts behind sugar content and how it can affect our health, Dr. Chehab passed around baggies of sugar that physically represented how much sugar is added to the drinks we often perceive as good for us.
Dr. Chehab is a board-certified pediatrician and mother of two with a Master’s degree in Public Health. She recently presented her Sugar Show on WGN-TV. For a video of the segment, click here.
This workshop was made possible with the support of NorthShore University HealthSystem.
